    Event Description:
The Covid-19 pandemic has forced many of us to change how we do things.  From tele-commuting to grocery store habits and even recreation, people are creating new habits.  CRC is adapting as well.  Our breakfast series will now be held as a monthly webinar, featuring national and regional experts discussing the challenges Covid-19 has brought to materials management.

In the early days of the pandemic, multiple states with container deposit return systems (or ?bottle bills?) suspended enforcement or shutdown redemption operations altogether. By now all states have either resumed redemption or announced when they will resume. While each state acted for different reasons the impacts were all very similar: an acute drop-off in recyclable feedstock for food and beverage manufacturers and consumers owed millions in deposit money.  In this talk Mike Noel from TOMRA, a key provider of recycling technology, transportation and processing services for deposit systems throughout the world, will outline these impacts, the medical community?s view on virus transmission and bottle redemption, and how regulators are planning for a safe redemption system going forward.
