Headquartered in Naugatuck, CT, Environmental Products Corporation "Envipco" is a global provider of recycling technology systems to recover used beverage containers both in Bottle Deposit and Non-Deposit markets. Envipco employees over 80 Connecticut residents with an additional 100 employees located in several other US states and internationally in Germany, France and Sweden.
Envipco’s proprietary recycling technology activities include the design, development and manufacture of Reverse Vending Machines (RVM) for recovery of used beverages containers, with turn-key services that include field technical services, accounting, data administration and materials handling.
A Reverse Vending Machine (RVM) is an advanced piece of equipment designed to identify, sort, collect and process used aluminum, glass and plastic beverage containers and provide the user with a voucher slip that can be redeemed for cash or merchandise at the location in which the RVM is installed. Envipco maintains over 50 technology patents covering the application, reading, and identification of deposit security markings and bar codes, for compaction devices, deposit clearing processes and systems, commodities bulk feed systems and for material handling, recognition, identification and sorting.
Envipco is also active in the international markets of Sweden, Germany, the UK, Greece, Australia, and France. All RVM’s sold internationally are manufactured and exported from Envipco’s Naugatuck CT facility.
