CT's Materials Management Policy
The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) is the state's leading authority on waste and materials management. In 2016, DEEP published its Comprehensive Materials Management Strategy (CMMS) document. The CMMS replaces the Solid Waste Management Plan and serves dual roles as both a strategic plan outlining the steps Connecticut must take to meet its waste diversion goal, and as an expression of the state’s materials management policies. DEEP's CMMS is the place to start for key information about Connecticut's waste stream, its infrastructure and recycling policies and goals.
